The city of Puerto de la Cruz is situated on the northern coast of Tenerife, right in the Valley of La Orotava. Size is about 9 km2 and 32.000 inhabitants, being one of the cities with the highest population-density of the Canaries. The city carries a long history on it´s back, and started to get worldwide-known in the end of the fifties, when tourism started. Thanks to tourism the town has a lot of hotels, apartments and restaurants, which makes the town an interesting place to visit.

Puerto de la Cruz is situated about 20 minutes away from the northern airport Los Rodeos.
The motorway makes it easy to visit other parts of the island. From here we can start our journey towards the capital city of Santa Cruz, or other cities like La Laguna and La Orotava, from where we ascend towards Las Cañadas del Teide.
